Thats right 2K, seems the best way of deciding the Top Trainer. And believe me I want to win it. The only reason i was running so many dogs each week, was to try to gain more prize money. Now that it is done this way, I can run my best dogs, and get rid of the ones who just make up the numbers. We will soon see who the best is in terms of being consistantly good every week. Yeah true but thats a good thing, you can either run them for the prize money their going to get you through just runs and add to your bank balance or like you said you wont enter them and in turn you only enter your best which weens out the weakness in your kennels and sets you on par for the goal of top trainer. I think the trainers ideas of what they want from the league is varied, whether it be top trainer, punter or have the highest bank balance. Its up to you on which part you want to...

This is a much better idea indeed, but in turn could have a detrimental effect on the league as it would result in less nominations. As I for one would stop entering all my non-chasers.

Cheers, I will have a look a t the results from week 1 to sort out the points from the races where dogs were disqualified, including any subsequent positional changes. So the points that I already posted may alter slightly.

This system is actually used at tracks when deciding the top dog competition, for that particular track. It's tried and tested, that's why it seemed a good idea.

Will post the new Top Trainers Standings in about 1 hour.

Yeah thats a good idea Martin. Kinda based upon strike rates. Also funny that Shayne happens to be 666 lol. Well ive made you a Moderator for the forum anyways and will let you have the Top Trainer Post.

Maybe a points system needs to be introduced for the purposes of top trainer. And an average taken.
example;
1st - 10 pts
2nd - 8 pts
3rd - 6
4th - 4
5th - 2
6th - 1
I know that is is time consuming, but I'm willing to do this (too mcuh time on my hands)
I have already done this for the period uo to and including week 3 (I was bored)

Yeah i was also thinking that, it is definately unfair to go off top trainer by prizemoney under the shoot out circumstances. It was well over the odds in prizemoney for a single race where even last postion got 20,000. The race wasnt even schedualled. I think it should be equalled by letting the trainers that didnt participate in that shoot out to vote on a distance to have a shoot out on, same prize money. Id say its only fair.

I think that judging the winner by prize money has to be thrown out the window now.. After the $180000 shootout.

Yeah, you've doing really well Dawn. With a few people their main strength in terms of prize money is the stayers and not even the wins, just the runs and ive only got upto 525M runners really so i can only make half the entries of what some can, and you can imagine me, wanting to make a complaint about it lol. But you've managed to take the record in the 275M too and are stronger on both ends of the distances, so i cant really complain lol

Are you sure I don't have 10 wins. Even though Stardust Memories had to be DQed from the 525mH last week, the dog that finished 2nd and moved up to the winners spot was mine as well.

Yeah, i see what your saying Gavin. I went off Prize money from just wins. I didnt think there was money for second place etc, especially for trials but i think what your saying is probably the best idea. I shall add prize money from all runs then. Because i could see how it would be gutting for you to get nothing coming second in a feature race. Thanks for pointing that out Gavin, ill update the records shortly.

The GPRL Inaugural Seasons Trainers Championship Standings. Based upon points average.

In the event of trainers with the same average, the trainer with the least amount of runs will get preference.

Standings up to and including week 4, inluding disqualified dogs with any subsequent changes in points.
